What type of person are U?

This is really a hot topic on social media today cause I always find my mom, dad, aunts and others retweet this kind of test and share their results. This always makes me laugh especially when I saw that my mom got a “bossy mom” result. Yes she is sometimes, but I believe everyone have such a face in their everyday life. I don’t believe in this type of tests. Even I do, there are a bunch of questions that I have to ask. Why should we know that? Will it make our life better or worse? Within knowing this, is there a way to make a change?

Most tests do not answer these questions. They judge you, they inform you and they walk away. They are just for fun.

Then is there a way to identify people scientifically?

Yes, there definitely is a way to identify people by measuring personalities which affect dominantly in their brains. Just like sometimes we cannot identify all the chemical compounds in a fruit but we can figure out some of them due to the specific patterns they present in NMR test. (It’s just an example and I am not Sheldon please don’t kill me.)

Anyway, I took the How To Fascinate test because Professor T asked us to. Surprisingly, the result turns out to be useful.

My archetype is MAESTRO. My primary advantage and second advantage is relatively POWER and PRESTIGE.

This is not about the inner me but about how others will perceive me, in working circumstances. Ignore whether it is right or wrong which I will identify in the end of semester by asking my teammates, I think what is important is that the test gives me an easy-to-understand expression of my type of people.

Also, this test does show me that it is not try to judge you in a 360 degree way and predict what you can or cannot do in the future. Instead, it only tells your primary and secondary advantages which will have the most influence in your career. Although I do not know the algorithm and modeling of this test, I do have a feeling that it is reasonable since it does not try to tell you everything you already know.

And then I got some advice about how to make the most of my personality in working.

I think this is the hardest part for all kinds of tests because it’s easy to tell somebody what you are like but it’s hard to give advices. Judging people is only based on the fact that already exists. However, giving guidance is based on experience and you will never know whether it will work or not until it happens finally. As a result, I believe that this test must have compared historical data in how my type of persons react to this problem and get the methods that works the best out of database as an advice.

I have not doubt that they can do this because I happen to read that dating website have been using data to analyse which types of people can be couples. Sally Hogshead also talked about this in her TEDTalks.

As a result, maybe the test needs to be proved later but I do think it’s different and useful. Thanks to Professor T and also Sally Hogshead. Hope you can try it too and get some good guidance from it.
